INTRODUCTION

(The Five Codes: Life, Death, Resurrection, Hell and Paradise)

Praise be to Allah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Most of the content on this web site has been discussed and consulted with selected samples of our young Muslims in discussion groups. Feedback on the content was also sought from Muslim and non-Muslim educators. It is hoped that this web site will instill in our young Muslims the understanding that Islam is not limited to only acts of worship – rather, it is a way of life that regulates every aspect of our lives.

Most of the  material provided is compiled, edited and abridged by the author from variable and different online sources. They are acknowledged at the end of each code in the ‘references’ section with authentic Arabic texts added to the Quranic verses and the hadiths that are cited in this book. Authentication of the included Hadiths is checked by Dr Mohammad Aamir Abdul Hameed – PhD in Orientalism from Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Riyadh - Saudi Arabia. The second and final round of editing for English text is completed by Miss Aisyah Sakinah Saadon – B.A and B. Comm, Melbourne – Australia. I am sincerely grateful to Aisyah for her dedication, support and hard work. Special thanks to Dr Abdul Kamareddine – Principal of the Islamic College of Melbourne - Australia, for his general feedback on the content. Thanks to Sh Ajwad Hashim – Islamic Studies Coordinator at the Islamic College of Melbourne, for his feedback on Chapter 5 of the book.  I would also like to thank and acknowledge Miss Cordelia Jean Mackay - ICT Coordinator at the Islamic College of Melbourne, for assisting me in constructing this website whose ideas and suggestions were of great help.

This websites consists of five chapters (852 pages) - Life, Death, Resurrection, Hell and Paradise:

Life chapter consists of eight sections: the purpose of life, what is my role, Al-Qadar (Destiny), sins in Islam, undesired social diseases, repentance, signs of the Day of Judgment and fortress of a Muslim.

Death chapter consists of five sections: understanding the concept of death, dying stage, funeral stage, burial stage and different issues related to Barzakh (i.e. the world of death).

Resurrection/Day of Judgment chapter consists of two sections: the meaning of resurrection or  Yawm-ul-Qiyamah (
Day of Judgment) and the order of the events of the day of Judgement.

Hell chapter consists of four sections: introduction, description of Hell, inhabitants of Hell and miscellaneous issues (i.e. how to avoid Hell …etc).

Paradise chapter consists of six sections: Jannah versus Dunya (our world), description of Jannah, the pleasures (delights) of  Jannah, Al-Hur Al’een and the worldly women, inhabitants of Jannah, and miscellaneous topics (i.e. seeing Allah in Jannah, the people of Al-A’raaf …etc).

The content is colour coded for easy reference:
  • Quranic verses are in blue
  • Authentic and Hasan hadiths are in mauve
  • Da’if (weak) hadiths are in red
  • Scholars’ opinions are in green
  • Transliterated texts are in brown

Many people can benefit from this book: Secondary students and teachers, University students, researchers, and anyone interested to learn about life, death, resurrection, hell and paradise from an Islamic perspective. This web site offers comprehensive information about Islam which can be used by Imams for Friday Khutbas (speeches). It is based on authentic hadith and Quranic verses and provides a comprehensive understanding of Islam without promoting any specific school of thought.

To facilitate secondary students’ learning, the author created an ‘Educational Resources’ page which can be accessed by teachers from different Muslim schools. The page consists of worksheets, YouTube videos and PowerPoints. Teachers may create their own worksheets on different sections in each code and send them to the Author. These worksheets will be uploaded on the ‘Educational Resources page' with the names of the teachers who created them and their school name (if they wish), so that they can be shared with others.

A 'Digital Resources' page is also added to include links to Hadith, Quran, scientific miracles in the Quran and Sunnah, Sirah, Tafsir, Fiqh, stories of the prophets, stories of the sahaba, Islam and atheism, Islamic movies and animation, books of hadith, Islamic publications, Arabic resource... etc.
